The hotel Franziskaner has been owned and managed by our family for four generations. Like the founder in 1909 we strive to make your stay as pleasant as possible. It has been our tradition to make you feel at home with us and to always meet your demands.

Our rooms are comfortable and contribute to your feeling of well-being. Wireless Internet is available in your room for free! Two non-smoking-floors provide for even more comfort. Available from May 2011: Choose from 80 free digital TV channels and enjoy TV at its best!

Our house is located in the old town right between the Baroque University from 1591 and the Franciscan monastery with its contemporary style cloister garden. In this quiet environment you can savour the traditional Würzburg. The Cathedral, the Old Main Bridge and the Residenz are in walking distance.

The Würzburg Residenz was recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage. Built between 1740 and 1770,  it is – with its Hofgarten - one of the most sumptuous of Europe’s Baroque palaces. This is only one of the many treasures of Würzburg created throughout the centuries by artists such as Giovanni Battista Tiepolo, Balthasar Neumann and Tilman Riemenschneider.

Despite its central location our guests are often impressed by the calm they find, due to the traffic reducing measures at night imposed by the city, and to the neighbourhood of the Franciscan monastery. From our terrace you may enjoy a view of the Baroque "Käppele" and take a look at the monastery garden.
